Modern Heidi

If you've never tried out a mermaid braid (whacking two plaits on top of your head) i really think you should. I feel like heidi - in a good way. No one knows my hair needs a wash, no one knows this hairstyle took me 5 seconds, they all think i'm very daring hair wise (or slightly mental). This hairstyle and my pinafore pretty much go hand in hand and it wasn't until my mother called me Heidi that i deemed this look The Modern Heidi and often refer to it as that. The pinafore was a complete bargain in the topshop sale and was the best impulse buy, ever. The shirt less so as Urban Outfitters seems to get more and more over priced by the day (darn you hipsters!) but overall this shirt has served me well and goes with a lot despite the colour and pattern. Please ignore my blue and completely mismatching nails, looking back at these pictures they're really bothering me! Apologies to any picking people out there like me, i didnt mean to offend.

Leopard Print Coat and Pointed Flats

Hello all! This outfit is one of my all time favourites, and i often wear it out. Although for once my coat was a tad warm for the weather we've been having! Which we can all say is a first for England in March. I picked up my leopard print coat last winter from topshop and i think it is my favourite item in my wardrobe; it looks good with everything, really everything. Even clashing prints underneath it look like i'm being fashion forward and edgy when in reality - i don't have another coat i would want to wear. The only occasional flaw is the 3/4 length sleeves during the cold UK winters, but they look incredibly classy over cocktail dresses and allow me to wear the coat in early spring with blouses and skirts. On my top i'm wearing a shirt from Urban Outfitters that i only wear with this particular jumper for the white Wednesday Addams esque collar, the jumper is actually a mens size but i get so much use out of it that i recommend everyone own one mens jumper. It dresses down skirts, can be a cheeky dress or even worn with pyjamas bottoms on a lazy sunday (and often is). My shoes are a gorgeous pair of pointed sparkly flats but i unfortunately learnt why i only ever wear them to restaurants; as they ripped my feet to shreds and i found myself limping to buy plasters after half an hour out of the house. Although this looks still a bit winter-y for the weather this weekend i love it too much not to wear it out, and i'm sure i will wear it again (yes i'm an outfit repeater) (sorry). Hope you all like my look, dont forget to comment any outfits for certain occasions you'd like to see me put together and follow my blog!

Spring Evening Outfit

Hello all! For my first post i thought i'd give you a fairly dressy outfit to celebrate the occasion, as i definitely won't be wearing this out the house today. I decided to combine some of the spring trends into an evening outfit and branch out of the 'i'm an ice cream' outfits you can see everywhere. My pleated midi skirt is a great love of mine, it makes me feel like a very sophisticated lady and can be dressed up or down. Here i've paired it with my metallic platforms, a floral bralette, bright clutch and a belt to break up the colours. I'm also not really a fan of cropped tops, if the space between the skirt and top is too small there's no point, if it's too big it takes away from everything else in the outfit (and isn't the most lady like of looks). So i've used the belt to make the outfit more of a dress then a top and skirt. I unfortunately have no where to wear this outfit, so i'll have to hang it up again and let it continue to collect dust.. (my poor social life is now affecting my clothes!). I hope you all like this spring time evening look, dont forget to comment/like and follow me! Lot's of love, Miss.2.55 X
